Welcome to Loman Control Systems, Inc.

Loman Control Systems is a Control Systems Integrator (CSI) with the purpose of helping manufacturing companies automate their plants so they are more productive. Increased productivity leads to increased profitability and also contributes to maintaining manufacturing in the United States. Loman’s focus is on the automation of plant-floor equipment and integrating that equipment with front-office computers. Integrating all levels of a plant provides Plant Intelligence for Corporate Management. Loman’s strengths are primarily in discrete manufacturing, batch manufacturing, and plant-entrance secure barrier systems, with some process control capabilities. Loman provides services to customers in a variety of industry segments but primarily serves metals, food, beverage, biomedical, automotive, pharmaceutical, and wood. See Applications for details.

Core services include writing functional specifications, automation system design, PLC software, Operator Interface and MES Software, Computer Software (i.e. VB.NET, Network & Web applications), Databases, Spreadsheets, Product Inspection, and Motor Controls. Extensive internal procedures and training provide consistent services and project results for the client and maintains Certification with the CSIA.

In addition to the control and automation of their equipment, our clients frequently come to us for machine safety solutions and energy & data management for Plant Intelligence. In most instances machine safety improvements improve profitability because increased safety is less costly than addressing worker injury. Data management and timely, intelligent reporting of production and test data via MES computers enables informed management decisions. Having real-time plant information is critical in today's competitive markets. Additionally, tracking and traceability of product through a production process has many advantages also, particularly in the event of a product recall. See About Loman for more information.

Our projects involve upgrading existing machines and processes, as well as control and information systems developed for new equipment. Our scope of project involvement can be partial or full responsibility. Partial responsibility might include project management, writing a Functional Specification, developing software, control panel assembly, or field wiring. Full responsibility would begin with the planning phase and conclude with the final startup, test, and training phase. Ongoing support is always available. See Capabilities for details.

Many of our clients come to us for custom, turnkey manufacturing equipment and automated testing equipment. Custom equipment is that which is not available from an OEM. Since custom equipment requires mechanical design and build capabilities, Loman partners with companies that provide these mechanical services.

As an independent integrator, Loman does not represent products for any specific manufacturers, although we do have alliances with various manufacturers and other businesses. Our independence allows us to choose products that are best suited for a client's application, or use products on which a client has standardized.
