The event, which took place in York, PA, featured a full spread of events including a mainstage panel discussion featuring Chris Tarsa (President, C.L. Martin acoustic guitars are world renowned, and under Chris Martin, the company has experienced manufacturing and sales growth. Additional program elements included an awards luncheon, musical performances, and two choices of educational workshops.
Attendees were allowed to choose which of the two workshops, referred to at the event at “jam sessions”, depending on their interests. The first jam session, “The 5th S- Sustaining Your LEAN and Six Sigma Journey,“ was presented by MANTEC’s operational excellence and quality team. MANTEC offers organizations the tools and training to ensure the operational excellence, which can improve customer satisfaction, employee retention, product and service quality, and marketplace competition.
Loman’s own CEO, Bob Lowe, hosted the second jam session called “Advanced Manufacturing Technology- Starting the Digital Journey.” During his presentation, Lowe explained how Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) is a journey toward the digital transformation on the plant floor. Lowe discussed how manufacturers can begin when deciding on AMT such as local data aggregation and analysis, improving industrial networks, modernizing control systems, predictive maintenance, and more.
Bigger picture initiatives are ERP, Cloud Computing, and Supply Chain integration. Lastly, Lowe explained how a well-planned technology strategy enables data to flow seamlessly throughout a manufacturing company, allowing them to achieve incremental process and business improvements.
The goal was to provide proven methodologies and case studies to steer attendees in the right direction when it comes to the AMT journey. Loman Control Systems’ Automation Solutions Consultants help manufacturers learn more about AMT and how to implement different components based on where they are now and where they want to be.
