Operational Efficiency

  • A small change in scheduling can have a significant impact on energy consumption. Consider staging the starting of major electric consumers, i.e. motors, heaters.
  • Monitor current operations and determine ways to reduce downtime and rejects.

Infrastructure Improvements

  • Add levels of automation and associated controls to provide better control and monitoring of processes.

Process Development

  • It may be possible to modify processes to use less energy – not just the steps of the process, but how those steps interrelate.

Renewable Energy Sources

  • Replacing a portion of conventional energy sources with renewable can not only reduce the cost from those conventional sources, but also can reduce negative impact on the environment.
